Summer days

Morgan loves to sit and play with her favorite crinkle book.

As we were hanging out in Morgan's room, she spotted the snail and scooted over to it with excitement....she was even more excited when she got to go for a ride too!

Not to spoil the happy vibe, but this was a tender moment i had to share. This is one of Morgan and Ceasar's last play times together with the beads that Ceasar ended up eating while we were out on our hike. They sure did have some good times together.

RIP Caesar

This morning Caesar died. Saturday while we were climbing Saddleback Mountain, we think Caesar ate some Mardi Gras beads from the previous weekend. He's been sick and in pain the past couple days and he held on to this morning just before Keith left for work. He brought plenty of joy into our home for the year we had him. So long Caesar!

A look back on the good times:

Here's Caesar the first week we had him. It was so sweet to finally have a kitty!

Caesar was always curious about what Keith was studying and would keep him company.

He was as excited about Morgan's arrival as we were!

He kept an eye on Junior though the window in his first trip to Lancaster.

Climbing Saddleback Mountain

We left the house at 5:30am, and began the 8 mile, 4,000 ft elevation gain climb to the highest point in Orange County. Morgan was fussy about 10% of the time and Keith's shoulders bore a heavy burden, but we made it! You can see Mount San Jacinto in the background, if you look closely you can see Valerie working on her trails!

Mardi Gras in Fullerton

Keith got a couple tickets to the Mardi Gras celebration in Fullerton so we made a date out of it. Morgan enjoyed the sights and sounds almost as much as we enjoyed the lobster bisque, toffee pudding, and crawfish.

And it seems Morgan is working on her scooting...

Swim!

Morgan is practicing sitting up, she has gotten good about not falling on her face.

Daddy thinks they are a circus act and Morgan is warming up to the idea.
